Body Composition Scans with our InBody 270 Machine

Did you know your weight alone doesn’t tell the full story of your health?

Our Mudeford, Christchurch clinic now offers InBody Body Composition Scans, a cutting-edge way to look inside your body and understand what truly matters:

Visceral fat is the fat you can’t see, the dangerous fat stored around your organs. It’s strongly linked to many different health diseases.

Our InBody scan doesn’t just measure your weight, it shows whether your visceral fat levels are healthy, and our physio will guide you on the best steps to reduce your risk.

Every scan comes with a personalised explanation from one of our physios, who will break down your results and guide you on the best next steps: whether that’s:

This is more than just a scan, it’s a roadmap for your health and future.

Accuracy:
InBody vs DEXA

Typical error margin is 1–2% for body fat when compared to DEXA in healthy populations.

A Private DEXA Scan is often over £150. A DEXA Scan Involves Radiation so is often only used in hospital settings.

Is it safe? Yes. Unlike X-ray or DEXA scans, InBody uses a very low electrical current (bioelectrical impedance) that you won’t feel at all. It’s completely safe and non-invasive.

Who benefits most from a scan?

Anyone interested in going beyond the bathroom scale.

People wanting to understand where their Lean Muscle Mass, Bodyfat Mass is, Body Water & Visceral Fat is vs Normative Values for their age.

Clients working on fat loss, strength, or rehab.

People who want to track progress over months, not just guess.

Contraindications for InBody Scans:

1. People with pacemakers or implanted electronic medical devices
The InBody machine uses a small, harmless electrical current, but it may interfere with these devices.

2. Pregnant women
Not dangerous, but the electrical current and body water changes during pregnancy make results unreliable.

Best avoided during pregnancy.

3. Severe oedema, dehydration, or fluid imbalance
Since the scanner relies on water content, accuracy can be affected in people with uncontrolled medical conditions that alter hydration status.

Not unsafe, just less reliable results.

Children under 18 years

Safe, but normal ranges are not as well established in younger populations, so results may be less meaningful.

Cost for this Scan & Explanation of Findings with us: £65. The appointment will last up to 30 minutes.
